Three brothers inherited a traditional Lebanese family house and garden in Aley. Disfigured by damages sustained during the war and haphazard alterations over the years, it needed a major overhaul in order to accommodate the privacy and needs of three couples and their children. The first step was to strategically locate a circulation core (lift and stairs) that would allow independent access to three apartments. Since the existing floors of the mansion could only house two of the brothers, it was decided to implement an additional loft by reconstituting a modernized interpretation of the pitch roof which was destroyed during the war.
